Virginia Terms for This Site

By visiting or using Virginia Busted Mugshots, you agree to these terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the site and its search links.

This is a private Virginia reference site. It is not affiliated with a government agency, sheriff, jail, or corrections department, and neither the site nor its advertising partners provide consumer-reporting services. We are not a private-investigation firm or a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The site points to public arrest-record and booking-photo sources around Virginia; it does not maintain official files.

About This Virginia Guide

Virginia Busted Mugshots is a privately run guide with no government connection. It does not store an official roster or court file, confirm custody, arrange a release, or submit papers for a visitor.

The statewide site explains where local arrest records and booking-photo sources are held, routes readers through the County Directory, and links to the VADOC, courts, and outside research tools. Virginia FOIA, Va. Code ยง 2.2-3700 et seq., governs access requests to public bodies; this guide does not change an agency's duties or exemptions.

Rules for Site Use

  • follow applicable law while using the site;
  • do not use site information to stalk, threaten, or harass anyone;
  • do not try to enter systems or accounts without permission;
  • do not run automated scrapers or bots against the site; and
  • do not damage, overload, or interfere with the service for other visitors.

FCRA Use Is Prohibited

Virginia Busted Mugshots is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and does not provide background checks, credit reports, consumer reports, or screening services. This restriction also applies to data reached through a linked partner tool. You agree not to use site information for any FCRA-covered purpose, including:

  • decisions about hiring, continued work, or employment;
  • housing or tenant-screening decisions;
  • credit, lending, or insurance decisions;
  • licensing, permits, or eligibility for a government benefit; or
  • any other use regulated by the FCRA.

Links We Do Not Control

Links may lead to a Virginia jail roster, a sheriff or corrections page, a court or other government portal, a locality site, or a private search provider. A link is not an endorsement. We do not control those sites' content, privacy practices, fees, or uptime; review their terms before using them.

Service Provided As Is

All site content and tools are provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranty that they will be:

  • accurate, complete, or current;
  • available without interruption;
  • free of errors, bugs, or security flaws; or
  • complete in the results returned by a search partner.

Custody status and public records can change. Nothing on this site is an official statement from a Virginia sheriff, jail, court, or government agency.

Limits on Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the site operator and its partners are not liable for losses or damages arising from your access to, inability to use, or reliance on this site or a linked service.

Your Responsibility for Claims

You agree to defend and hold the site operator and its partners harmless from claims, losses, and reasonable legal fees that arise from your use of the site or your violation of these terms.

Ownership of Site Material

Unless a source says otherwise, the site's writing, graphics, logo, and code belong to Virginia Busted Mugshots or its content partners. Do not copy, change, or distribute them without written permission.

Updates to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A revised version takes effect when it is posted on the site.

Access May Be Restricted

We may limit or end access to the site at any time and for any reason, without advance notice.

Virginia Law Applies

Virginia law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. A dispute must be brought in a court located in Virginia, subject to any rule that requires a different venue.

If One Term Cannot Apply

If a court finds one part of these terms invalid or unenforceable, the remaining parts stay in effect. The affected wording will be narrowed only as much as needed to make it enforceable.
